When I was forced to move my website from imagelinkusa.net to another hosting provider (current 1&1), I elected to not expend the effort of migrating and updating the old phlog (PHoto bLOG). Since the interim of posting my photos to my blogspot blog (aided by Picassa) proved to be much more convenient.

From the office Operation Feed raffle, I bought 78 tickets using all the coins that I accumulated since last year that made whole rolls. 4 of those tickets came up in the draw, and 3 of them won me 3 out of 6 pansies

This year i gave them away, rather than take the flowers home to die. ;)

Chimping is a term used in digital photography (especially when using a digital single-lens reflex camera or DSLR) to describe the habit of checking every photo on the on-camera display (LCD) immediately after capture. Usage varies depending on context and the person using it, but common uses include: when a photographer’s sounds and actions of reviewing frames on-scene appear similar to the actions of an excited monkey. (Oooh! Oooh! Aaah!) when a photograph is completely absorbed in the act of admiring a photo or proudly showing it off to others by experienced photographers to describe the actions of "wannabe" photographers. Having several digital photographers together will result in group chimping either during or after the event they are shooting. This is similar to actual chimpanzee grooming, which is a social activity.

I decided it was time to update the wallpaper on my computer, and I was thinking I wanted something 'cruise' themed. Though I couldn't find anything online, when I thought to myself...haven't I shot anything during any of my cruises that might do the trick.

I found this image....scaled and cropped to fit my 1280x1024 desktop, and it looks great.

Though this iimage is scaled down even further to fit the constraints of my blogging package....

Here's a shot I took shortly after setting foot outside in JOhnson City, TN.

I'm walking down from the Comfort Suites hotel, where I'm staying, down to the offices of OSIsoft where I will later need to make an appearance at the next day for an on-site job interview.

This shot is later after having walked back from finding out where the offices of OSIsoft were, and also having walked to see what was in the other direction past the Comfort Suites hotel. And, now looking off the area from the back entrance before heading back to my room.

I think the bird had a better vantage point to take in the view....

Lately, I've been having a strange desire to cook something involving eggs.

About a week ago, I noticed that a bird had made a home on top of the light at the top of the stairs at my apartment.

Not an uncommon occurance.

When I reached the top of the stairs to go down... the bird flew away, then it occurred to me that I should get paicture....

Over the days, I would continue to pass the spot...usually to go and see what the mailman had brought me....and each time the bird would take off due to my approach and then I would remember that I wanted to take a picture.

Yesterday I finally remembered to have my camera with me, but the bird wasn't there. I had left checking my mail to too late in the day, and other people have probably come through the area to scare it off.

But, today on my way to MOP to get a haircut....I found my opportunity.

I probably could've gotten closer, to where the flash might have been usable, but there's also the laziness of having OIS.....

As I walk back to KSU from what will be my future home in Manhattan, KS.....it occurred to me as I was almost back that I should've snapped some pictures.

Oh well, I guess I'll be posting pictures when I get settled

Alas, the trail doesn't go all the way back to KSU....but I think the street it dumps out on would, except there was construction at one intersection and there was no short way around it.

Looks like there is finally snow here in Manhattan, KS....kind of having mixed feelings about it though.

Yesterday it rained a lot, so I decided to put off going out for groceries....and now. Guess I'll have to see how things are on January 2nd....meanwhile I guess I'll try ordering food delivery online....
